My visit to St. Moritz,Switzerland, with my family in February — just before the world shut down due to COVID-19 — was one of the best trips of my life.
St. Moritz is a charming winter wonderland, where there are snowy hills, cozy hotels and, of course, frozen lakes that everyone loves to skate on.
If visitors like skiing, sledding, snowboarding, ice skating or watching horses race on a frozen lake, then St. Moritz is the place for them.
We first arrived in Zurich, where we took a train ride to St. Moritz, passing by frozen waterfalls, snowy mountains and a mammoth bridge over the town of Bergun. We saw families carrying their toboggan sleds and hopping off the train, and I knew we just had to go sledding there.

Then, after our long journey, we arrived at the most spectacular hotel I had ever seen: Carlton Hotel St. Moritz. Because my mom owns Diego Travel, a Virtuoso affiliated travel agency, we were upgraded to a Grand Suite, and I was treated like a princess.
We rode in a horse-drawn carriage to get to the skiing; we ate lunch at a mountaintop restaurant; and my family skied all together through a forest run. After a long day of fun, we spent time in an outdoor hot tub, where the steam was surrounded by ice.
Also, if visitors want to have a great dinner when they’re in St. Moritz, then they need to order fondue. Fondue is a delicious Swiss food with lots of cheese and a yummy smell, and it was the perfect way to end our day.
If you’ve never been to Switzerland, make sure you visit St. Moritz, the most amazing place with breathtaking views. I’ll sign off by saying, “Auf wiedersehen!”
